Maintenance Low maintenance does not mean no maintenance. The surface of a playing field must obviously have sound functional sports characteristics. With Radigreen, just a few fundamental maintenance and cleaning jobs are necessary over and above the watering of the playing field before play whenever possible. The day to day maintenance of the field simply involves clearing it of any rubbish, the effects of atmospheric conditions, dead leaves, pine needles, vegetable matter and any material rubbed off by sports shoes. Rubbish, leaves and pine needles can be easily removed using a stiff brush, whilst other matter can only be removed using a vacuum/sweeper. In order to maintain its sporting functionality, it is necessary to level the surface of the field at least once a day with a turf or coconut fibre rolling mat. At the same time, quartz sand and epdm granules must be spread evenly over the surface of the field. Weeds should be removed by hand. Installation The table below shows why it is not recommended that you lay synthetic grass over a previous, worn grass surface that has not been properly prepared for the purpose.
